Gigantoonz is a grid slot released by Play’n GO in 2022 as the latest instalment in their Reactoonz franchise. As their fame has grown and they have increased in size, the Toonz also need bigger accommodations, so this is how we get an expanded 8×8 grid.

The slot is packed with features like a Quantumeter, mega symbols, and different wilds. Gigantoonz is a high-variance slot with an RTP of up to 96.25%, which can be less at different casinos, and a max win 4,000x total stake.

How to Play

Gigantoonz can be played from just $0.2 up to $100. There are no paylines, bet levels, or con values, so just click the button with the stake value you want and then enable Autoplay if that’s your preferred mode of play. You can enable 10, 20, 50, 75, or 100 and set win / loss limits from the Autoplay menu. A turbo play option has also been provided.

The Gigantoonz paytable consists of 10 symbols that are all the colorful funny characters. They pay for forming clusters of at least six horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

Mega Symbols

The Gigantoonz can merge and appear as a mega symbol in sizes from 2×2 to 7×7. They count as a single symbol in a winning combination but the payout of the cluster benefits from its cluster value, which is randomized up to 13x.

If a mega symbol helps form a winning combo, it leaves a wild after it’s removed. If it’s not a part of a winning cluster, it breaks down to fill up the positions it occupied with its 1×1 versions, losing the cluster values.

Wilds

Gigantoonz has two types of wilds – Quantum Wilds, which may appear at random on any non-winning spin, and Gargantoon Wilds that appear in the Quantumeter only. Wilds replace all other symbols to form winning combinations.

Quantumeter

Each winning symbol adds one charge to the Quantumeter and mega symbols count as their cluster value. The meter holds up to 100 charges and has four levels:

• Disintegration takes 25 charges to activate and it will clear all positions of a randomly selected symbol from the grid.
• Metamorphosis is activated upon 50 charges and it will see all instances of one random symbol transform into a different symbol.
• Radiation is unlocked upon 75 charges and it adds up to four mega symbols and between two and five Quantum Wilds at random.
• Gargantoonz is launched when the meter is filled with 100 charges and it plays out in two steps – first, all mega symbols are transformed into mega Gargantoonz and then they are broken down into 1×1 Gargantoonz that are removed normally.

Verdict

Gargantoonz boasts a more polished, cleaner design than the previous instalments. It’s also more straightforward in terms of gameplay. Even with no bonus games, the Quantumeter and the mega symbols add thrill enough to keep things interesting as the reels keep cascading. Although the first and second levels aren’t that exciting, the winning potential in the third and fourth levels can make for some solid wins.
